In 2020, residents and entrepreneurs of Buren worked together with EnTranCe and the municipality of Ameland to create an energy plan for the village. Under the heading Neighbors gives energy, they talked about sustainable energy. Together with data on the energy use of residents drawn up an energy plan for the village.
Initiation of island-wide action
The energy plan was the impetus for an island-wide campaign to collect energy data from all permanently inhabited homes, make a thermal scan and distribute LED lamps. The energy data has been included in the Heat Transition Vision that the Ameland municipal council adopted in 2021.
