IANOS: build virtual power plant

Ameland is working with a large number of other parties on the development of a ‘Virtual Power Plant’. Large and smaller installations are connected to this platform, including generation, storage, conversion and users, with the aim of matching the supply and demand of sustainable energy as best as possible.

European project

It is one of the European projects in which the municipality of Ameland participates to share knowledge and learn from other leaders to achieve a smart energy grid. Meetings are held annually for this purpose, including in 2023 on Ameland.
