Kick off NESSIE project

Installers, maintenance engineers, electricians and other technicians play an important role in the success of the energy transition. However, there is a shortage of well-trained staff in these fields. The European Interreg project NESSIE is working to rapidly build capacity and skills with immediate action in the North Sea region. Ameland is one of the partners in the project, which was launched in Leeuwarden (NL) on 16 and 17 January.

Kick off

The two-day meeting was about getting to know each other, the ins and outs of the project, making working arrangements and learning from real-life examples. Among other things, the group visited the “Elfstedenhal” - an ice rink in Leeuwarden. Here they were given a presentation and a guided tour. They also visited Vocational School Firda. Firda is a project partner and trains both young people and adults to become installers, among other things.
