Ameland selected for Clean Energy for EU Islands project

Ameland has been selected as one of the 30 islands participating in the European Union’s ‘Clean Energy for EU Islands’ project (CE4EUI). Ameland has been promised technical expertise over the next three years to accelerate the path to 100% sustainable energy.

Ameland wants to be a leader in the energy transition and to achieve the Dutch climate goals by 2035. To this end, the island is working on integrated solutions for a sustainable energy system. Through the CE4EI collaboration, Ameland wants to increase its knowledge in, among other things, the field of heating networks and heating companies.

Next steps

In consultation with the organization of the CE4EUI project, the collaboration will be further developed and agreements will be made about the activities that will be undertaken within the project.

In addition to Ameland, the joint application Saba, Bonaire and St. Eustatius has also been selected. Want to know more about Clean Energy for EU Islands?
